Crisis Centre North Bay is a multi-service, not-for-profit, social service organization that has been supporting vulnerable individuals, youth and families in the Nipissing district for 50 years.

Our mission is to improve the lives of citizens by supporting them through situations of personal crisis with a range of residential and non-residential services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Community College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field of study is mandatory

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and crisis management skills

  • Must have exemplary emotional intelligence

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which can be physically demanding

  • The flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, statutory holidays as scheduled

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Experience working with persons living with mental health and addictions challenges who are experiencing homelessness

  • Knowledge of community resources relating to housing, mental health, addictions, financial supports

  • Crisis prevention and intervention training considered an asset (we provide training to staff)

The Orange Door Project Campaign is The Home Depot Canada’s fundraising campaign to help prevent and end youth homelessness. From May 30 until June 23, 2019 North Bay customers can donate $2 at checkout in their local Home Depot store or on OrangeDoorProject.ca in support of Crisis Centre North Bay. Locally both the Four Elms Program and the Futures Residence benefit from the funds raised. Contributions from this fundraiser assist in making improvements within these programs allowing them to provide quality support services in a safe and welcoming environment for youth experiencing issues of housing instability and homelessness.

Crisis Centre will be hosting the following events at Home Depot:

  • June 1/19: Community BBQ 11am to 3pm
  • June 15/19: Yard Sale 9am to 3pm
  • June 22/19: Community BBQ 11am to 3pm
