Overview:
Are you interested in working with transitional aged youth between the ages of 16-24 in a goal orientated, residential setting? If so, Crisis Centre North Bay’s Futures Housing Program is looking for an energetic, independent professional with strong leadership qualities to work on a casual part-time basis.
Hours of Operation:
Futures is a residential program that operates 24 hour per day 7 days a week. As a Residential Counselor, shifting requires days, nights and weekend availability.
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field
- Residential experience working in a similar setting is preferred
- Exemplary emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and in written format
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which can be physically demanding
- Knowledge of community resources pertinent to this unique group of individuals (YES, Ontario Works, CAS, community-based addictions and mental health services etc.)
- Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability
- Ability to establish, support and motivate goal setting
- Experience in facilitating groups and workshops and providing coaching and mentorship
- Knowledge and experience working with evidence informed programming
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to form and maintain strong professional relationships
- Crisis prevention and intervention skills considered an asset
- Suicide intervention training considered an asset
- Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
- Satisfactory criminal record check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
Rate of Pay: $25.38
