Nipissing Supervised Access Centre Access Worker: Casual Part Time

Overview:

Crisis Centre North Bay is looking for an energetic, independent professional with strong leadership qualities to work in our Supervised Access Centre on a casual part time basis.
The Nipissing Supervised Access Centre is a program funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services that provides a safe, child focused environment in which trained staff facilitate, monitor and document visits and exchanges between children and non-custodial parents or other persons as required by a Court Order. As an Access Worker you will be responsible to supervise court ordered visits between access parent(s)/family member(s) and their children and supervise court ordered and voluntary exchanges where there is unresolved conflict between the separated parents.

Hours of Operation:

The Nipissing Supervised Access Centre operates from Thursday to Sunday; 8:30am-7:00pm.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field
  • Knowledge and experience in family conflict, family dynamics, effective parenting skills and custody/access issues
  • Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset
  • Exemplary emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to form and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and in written format
  • Excellent observation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Crisis prevention and intervention experience and conflict resolution skills considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
  • Must provide own transportation to worksites
  •  Satisfactory criminal record check including Vulnerable Sector Screening

Rate of Pay: $25.39
